7th Inning Stretch

Things I make and things that make me want to make things

A few gifs I made not long ago for an upcoming JibJab project.

Yesterday’s doodle for the 100 day project - clearly posters are on my mind!In hindsight I’d change the bottom caption to ‘please cycle if you have any common sense’ (you can sort of see that I was going for a stab at the generic ‘please contact if you have any information’ but it didn’t quite work)

I was cleaning off my desktop when I found this gif from awhile back.  Nikolas Ilic made such an awesome, happy gator that I just had to make him dance.

A German Meat Wagon (Digital)

I know I’m biased, but I love this digital illustration that my wife made recently.  It brings back memories of our last visit to Germany.  Check out her Tumblr page for more!

So my friend, coworker, and desk neighbor Nikolas Ilic drew this demon dog (sans fire) at the end of the workday today and I insisted he let me animate some insane fire breath coming out of his gaping maw.  This is what I came up with after about 15 minutes of playing around in AE.
It was a blast to work on (pun intended).

Here’s a few gifs of my animation for the JibJab Storybots Storybook title for October entitled Halloween Friends!  The fantastic illustrations were masterfully designed and crafted by the talented Chris Garbutt and they were a blast to work from (I had to break up the elaborate witch transformation page into several gifs because of file/upload limitations).

Happy Halloween!

So I got a spambot follow-up email from my optometrist’s office today regarding my recent purchase of a year’s supply of contact lenses and decided that I had just had to respond with the animated gif you see above…
Even if nobody at the eye doctor’s office gets that email, I still don’t regret it because it was so fun to make :)
